Why I started an ISP in a border town in 2009
In 2009, most people said an internet business in Jaigaon made no sense and hence Jaigaon did not have any Broadband service till then.
No serious fiber infrastructure. No big player interested in towns beyond Siliguri. Everyone assumed reliable internet was a “metro city” problem to solve, not a Dooars problem.
I disagreed — and built Galaxynet Connections from the ground up, right here.
Today, we hold an ISP-B license, run leaseline and broadband infrastructure across Jaigaon, Siliguri, Kurseong, Darjeeling and Sikkim, and supply wholesale bandwidth to other ISPs across West Bengal.
It didn’t happen by accident. It happened because we treated network reliability as a promise, not a marketing line.
If your business is still depending on internet that “mostly works” — we should talk.
